Oblivion

I REALLY enjoyed this movie.  I don't want to sound like a pessimist, but these days when I go see a movie I have very low expectations.  I could count the number of truly good movies I've seen in the past three years on one or two hands.  So I set my expectations very low, and occassionally I'm slightly pleasantly surprised.

I'll go see any sci fi movie that doesn't look totally stupid.  (I'm not someone who believes in such a thing as a movie so bad it's good.)  I  thought the trailers for Oblivion looked interesting, but I wasn't really expecting it to be a great movie.  At the most I was hoping for some good eye candy.

Instead, it was a great movie.  Now I know that Hollywood CAN make a movie with great special effects AND a great story.  There are a few plot twists in the movie, so if it's not too late, I really recommend you see it and avoid any chance of spoilers until you do.

300i Rendered with In-Game Engine; Interview with Chris Roberts

Here's a great interview with creator Chris Roberts about the much anticipated Star Citizen space simulator.  We also get a sneak peak at the 300i, a very sex ship shown rendered using the in-game engine.

The level of fidelity and immersion in this game is going to be out of this world.  Alpha starts this fall. I can't remember ever being this excited for a game.  This is what I always wished EVE was, only better.

Ship Customization in Star Citizen

Here's a great article on how ship modifications are going to work in Star Citizen. Looks like it's going to be a lot of fun designing your own personal ship. I also like that you can just take a "factory model" out if you're in a hurry to get into the action.

I believe alpha is due to start in November or December of this year. It only takes a $30 buy-in to get the full game AND access to the alpha and beta. It's a steal if you ask me. I'm already planning on upgrading my ship, and I'll still have spent less than I spent for Borderlands 2.

If you decide to support and play the game, please use this referral link, as I'll get a chance to win some swag.

See you out there.
